*Thanks for watching.* Special thanks to nuclear safety engineer and [FACILITY] staff member *Brittany Williamson* for her help on this video.

      1. Alan Withington

Water is critical and a moderator of nuclear reactors accept for windscale England's worst nuclear disaster

      2. David Burgener

@Fjay someone took stargate as fact it seems...

      4. charlotte owen

@CLASH ROYALE why dose everyone put clash royel in there name abd people think there the real person i bet thats what you doing

      5. Some one

I propose... that if the majority of a group of people that are indoctrinated into an education system by others choice and dictation, and the majority of said group can't understand the dangers of human activities, say by the age of 23, then those human activities shouldn't be practiced. Clean... water, food, clothing, and shelter must be provided to everyone and nobody should be getting rich off anything!

    2. jeannick guerin

The liquidators were all fathers not young men and they don't have any abnormal mortality rate , they had to work for minutes well within the safety limits what kill you is not the radiation it's absorbing radioactive dust particulates , this is VERY bad

    3. studio developers2

Kind of like the jab. ....2 minutes. .....and you're dead.

    4. Neptune Vibe

Safe confinement doesn't sound cool as the sarcophagus. Doesn't fly for me.

    5. Jare Roken

35 years ago, still no Super Heroes.

    6. Cayden

Everyone talking abt Stalker, this reminded me of that and Resident Evil.

    7. Andrew Warcstor

Why you're making like this video may and this is so awkward let it go

    8. Bailee

Actually most of the workers are fine. They are not dead that’s a myth. Not trying to defend the Soviet Union just saying tho

    9. Alan Withington

      Heavy water not regular water.

    10. The Hunt

Youre telling me that water getting on the nuclear material is causing the spikes in radiation, so they decided to add sprinklers (that shoot water) to slow down the radiation flying around? Now i might have missed something here but that seems pretty stupid. Thats like throwing a match in a bucket of gas hoping itll hit the liquid before the gasses ignite

    11. Eric Jensen

They have 100 years to figure out how to dig underneath that thing, get all the poison out, put it in a rocket, and send it ALL to the sun.

    12. Bob Mealing

      I'm sorry...Ever heard of FUKUSHIMA!!!

    13. Dj Phantom

So, putting aside the physics, what your saying is that Chernobyl is a ticking bomb just waiting to go boom 💥, leaving a big hole in the ground, a mushroom cloud over Ukraine 🇺🇦 and radioactive ☢️ particles etc released into the atmosphere to do the grand tour of the world and leaving more destruction behind than a Rolling Stones hotel suite after one night. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    14. Jeff L

Someone said they seen signs of GodZilla.

    17. Dextro Deus

Not too bad, not too good

    18. Frank black

I'm still hoping for a zombie apocalypse

    19. Meloup 34

To reduce the numbers... they should spray that neutreliser liquid around the facility and inside it instead of waiting for a big rise in the radiations... they could use helicopter or airplane used to extinct fire to spray the lands and activate the spincklers before filling their tank back again...

    20. No Toes Baker

Most liquidators survived for 30-40 years heck there are still liquidators who are alive today. You are literally only talking about the guys who worked on shoveling the roof. There was thousands of jobs to be done hence 90,000 people came to do the work.

    21. Lusiphur StarLine

Liquidators turned in to hero something surprising it's very strange how humans or life on type summer even when confronted with something that is serious and real they change you see all around you people that break laws people that cheat on their wives you see all around you with normal people strangely enough when the assets falling and things start getting bad when it becomes real they change they start working together they don't care about the things they used to care about almost as if someone else is in control suddenly may the man who went there chose to stay and knew the risk they were paid more money or they should have gotten more money others would try and cheat them I hate people that make money from someone else's death

    22. Nobody and Everybody

      We don’t go to Ravenholm

    23. A H

I love hearing you talk about nuclear energy-related matters.

    24. Geminy

i remember my chemistry teacher talking about this stuff back in sophomore year 😭😂

    25. James Brown

Funny how you say "still beating" that heart of Chernobyl will be beating LONG after we are all dead

    26. Declan Brennan

3:30 "Water is critical for ... " Best not to use the "C" word when talking about nuclear materials. :-)

    27. Kristian Pints

      I.S.P.N.P.P

    28. Kyle O

If I was 100 years old and already on my way out, is it theoretically possible that I would make it to the elephants foot and take a picture with it or would the radiation probably kill me before I got there? Minus all the security and stuff like that

    29. -[REDACTED]-

      Get out of here, STALKER.

    32. Ole

kinda want that elephants foot to seep into the ground water so we can get a chernybol II

    33. dosmastrify

I wish you had explained what heavy water was about then

    34. Thorax999

the said 'elephants foot' is not the uranium changing ...they dropped tons of boron and sand on the reactor to stop the fire and that is what that is, the melted sand...like seriously mate that is not hard to confirm

    35. Viktor Sov

      The zone is expanding

It's called Kyiv, not Kiev, and pronounced with accent on y.

    38. Nick V

The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood (Chernobyl). A third of the waters became wormwood, and many died from the water, because it was made bitter. Rev 8:10-11 Apocalypsis Ioannis

    39. Chris Cooper

It blew up not melt down lol

    40. Kong Strong

Believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST and be saved 🙏

    41. JKItsMeAlGore

I would argue that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the worst nuclear disasters in history 🤷‍♂️ just saying

      1. Aaron Lee

I mean that was more retaliation for pearl harbor, but ok....

    42. VeRiittyyy

"most of liqudators are sick or dead" ... do you have any source for this?

    50. Azimuth Images

130 "Most of these liquidators are now either sick or dead" - I'd be interested to know your source for that please. I'm not doubting you, I teach radioactive transport and like to have accurate information.

No photo of elephant foot? Disappointed

    56. khankrum1

I am living in Bugaria, and do some " preppon "! One of my preps is a Geiger counter, why ? Because when Chernobyl blew all the Paety Officials scuttled to safety and told no one about the danger! I wonder why the cancer deaths in Bulgaria have something to do with this?

    57. Rhodexa Art

2:19 Sounds like Starship to me....

    58. Richard Grace

Actually something 10x worse than what happened before can end up happening at Chernobyl... they have no real clue about the basement levels where most of the radiation leaked to except that odds are it still eating through the concrete base and underneath that base still runs a MASSIVE water source... so in theory if the debri manages to eat through the concrete base and gain access to the water beneath you could end up with a neckwear explosion the likes of which this world has never seen

    59. Eugene Clayton

Has anyone seen my pet iguana?

    60. v0idkore

Wait... a second Chernobyl disaster? Guys, get your AKs and canned meat, we're gonna find some funny rocks

"looking at the math makes this easy to understand", not if you have Dyscalculia, though I understood your explanation better than I did the mathematics.

    62. My name Is my name

This was a bandaid on a bullet wound, this problem will be left for our grandchildren to figure out when technology advances enough to handle it... they hope.

Goobie , why yo head so big ??

    65. Gene Hasenbuhler

      Very informative- thank you!

    66. Lilly Richie

We have 2 major disaster areas with swathes of land unusable for thousands of years and poison leaching everywhere, and the green party, climate change wants more....f idiots.

    67. baby gzuz

We need to abandon all nuclear testing and shut all sights of testing and all power plants. This stuff clearly can’t be controlled properly when going as planned and definitely not when catastrophe strikes.

    68. Jeff Tiberend

Does anyone remember the movie the China Syndrome? That put so much fear of nuclear disasters in focus. Now, look where we are.

    69. BurnItMeltItVids

If both balls are the same mass...maybe true for most guys.

    70. Manny From Miami

If you wore a radiation suit your whole life, would you ever die of cancer?

    71. Paul Sim

      Intresting.

    72. patrick tarrant

      Very well explained

If you want to put scientific information on the internet for the public to read then should be correct or even close would be good you need to sort yourself out you're only after subscribers and thumbs up and votes

    78. Travel with Tony

I am currently traveling in Ukraine and your video has helped to provide valuable insight before traveling to Chernobyl. Thanks for the information.

    79. Ron D

I'm surprised that Chernobyl has been rated as No 1 in nuclear disasters. Surely over 10 years of pumping god knows what into the sea and no end in sight makes Fukushima worse.

    80. Dave Stephenson

      Man 35 years ago.

    81. Susan4YH

I like ur hair. Black AND blonde . Never saw hair quite like that....u might have started a new fashion trend ! Good video . Funny at the end . A comedian science guy .

I am convinced that if we cover everything in flex seal it will all be fine.

    83. charlotte owen

So japan gets nuked 2 times and now its safe but 1 reactor goes off and its still dangerous

    84. SethBrundleify

      Mothmen were spotted by Chernobyl.

I see a video on Chernobyl, I click.

    92. hotlanta35

Its great the new generations found a interest in the Chernobyl disaster..now they can lecture people who knew about it 35 years ago.

    93. Shane Stamper

Very informative and interesting video. I definitely enjoyed watching and was drawn into the video. Thank you for the information and I subscribed so I can view more. People should learn more about topics and they might not panic as much if they find out the realistic facts about certain topics.

    94. Portrait of Sorrow

38 years later its still a massive polution problem and potentially could still kill countless humans... so JUST IMAGINE HOW HORRIFIC FUKASHIMA ACTUALLY WAS, IS, AND WILL BE FOREVER! FOREVER BEING NOT LONG AT ALL, FOR FIRST YEAR OF LAST 11 YEARS SINCE IT ERUPTED THOSE IDIOTS TRIED TO PUT THE WATER BEING PUMPED FROM OCEAN IN HUGE CONTAINERS. SINCE THE 38 ENRICHED UNRANIUM FUEL RODS MUST BE KEPT COOL OR EARTH DIES, WATER FLOODING TGHE CENTRIFUGE ROOM IS PARAMOUNT. IMMEDIATELY TANKS BEGAN TO LEAK AND AFTER PUTTING A PENCIL TO IT THEY DEDUCED THAT AT THE RATE IT IS GOING ALL OF JAPAN WOULD BE COVERED WITH TANKS LEAKING THE MOST RADIOACTIVE POISON EVER PRODUCED. SO, WHAT OTHER CHOICE WAS THERE OTHER THAN LET IT DETONATE AND KILL ALL LIFE ON EARTH?? PUMP THE WATER BACK INTO OCEAN!! SO FOR LAST 10 YEARS OVER 2 MILLION GALLONS OF THE MOST TOXIC NUCLEAR RADIOACTIVE POISON HAS BEEN PUMPED BACK INTO THE OCEAN, "THATS 2 MILLION GALLONS EVERYDAY, EVERY 24 HOURS OVER 2 MILLION GALLONS OF THAT POISON BACK INTO THE OCEAN!! ITLL BE 9 MORE YEARS BEFORE A HUMAN CAN EVEN ENTER THE CENTRIFUGE ROOM TO MAKE THE FIRST ASSESSMENT OF ACTUAL SITUATION AND GET AN IDEA OF WHAT ITS GONNA TAKE TO BEGIN SOME SORT OF CLEAN UP AND REPAIR. AND ALL THIS MEANS WHAT??? SIMPLE AND CLEAR PEOPLE... WE ARE ALL ALREADY DEAD FROM IT!! NO GETTING AROUND IT OR CHANGING THAT FACT NOW!! WITHIN 30 YEARS ALL HUMANS DEAD DEAD DEAD FROM FUKASHIMA DISASTER! YOU WONT HEAR THEM SPEAK ON IT, ANY OF THEM, WHY? NO USE...

    95. HGR.785 *

2 mins shoveling *instead of 2 yrs at the front? Yes. What's the catch? 😣 The other shoe dropped hard. Poor bastards...

    96. Robert Provost

      Dammm I’m worries

    97. jeremy whitesell

Still cant get near the Elephants Foot. Then the water leaks got into some of the caved on rooms causing more problems. The worst seems to be in a backroom that they cant get to and they dont know whats happening in there. But best guess its definitely not good as nothing there is. That new comtainment actually made things worse inside under the rubble.

    98. Anthony 911

Seems like of an opening for Resident Evil 💀

    99. Fleetwing1627

"Most of these liquidators are now sick or dead." That's not an accurate statement, Kyle. No need for unnecessary alarmism.

    100. HULL GUITARS USA

In response to a person in the comments below who is TERRIFIED… I wrote this. And figured I would re-post it here as a separate comment. not going argue for or against your points….. but even if you are 100% correct, the only thing you can do to improve the situation is study, learn as much as you can about nuclear physics and its reaction with our world, and try and keep a level head. So that maybe you can influence others and have a clear and calm conversation helping them understand the things you’ve learned and why you hold those opinions. I know this stuff seems like black magic voodoo… But it’s some of the most simple stuff, and it’s actually enjoyable and a lot of fun. And much easier to learn than even basic middle school algebra. There are a lot of folks out here like myself… “Nuclear hobbyists“ I guess is what we call ourselves. I spend a lot of time with professional nuclear survey and measuring equipment… Along with many extremely “spicy“ radioactive sources. And I understand it can be one of the most frightening invisible forces in the entire universe. But as you learn about the science, The fear transforms into inspiration, and a respectful understanding of the dangers. HOWEVER… The best part is the surprise of understanding how unbelievably controlled, non-threatening, and completely safe these things really are. Naturally in our earth, and when handled with respect. Radioactivity is literally 100 times less threatening than most people understand, and it’s 1000 times less dangerous than media would like you to believe. More people die EVERY WEEK from non-prescription meds like NyQuil and Advil than have died from nuclear energy and its accidents over many decades. And I know humans have been doing frightening things with nuclear energy for a long time. But it is much much less threatening than most people understand, (nuclear weapons not included… those are obviously ridiculous, terrifying, and should not exist) Radioactive sources are all around you. With a cheap geiger counter from Amazon you can find uranium in your backyard, in your granite countertops, and radioactive material in your smoke detectors and other places throughout your home and life. Is it dangerous? Is nuclear waste or depleted uranium dangerous? Yes… In the same way water is dangerous. You could drowned in an inch of water. But it is also used for many things that aren’t harmful. And that improve our quality of life. You can hold depleted uranium and spent fuel (nuclear waste) in your hand. Don’t believe me? Google it. You can buy radioactive sources online everywhere. some of them can be dangerous if handled without proper knowledge and respect. But you can easily and cheaply buy depleted uranium samples, along with many other things. Sometimes bigger samples show up on eBay from time to time. I’ve personally purchased Things like depleted uranium penetrators from ammunition rounds, an entire bottle of old radium paint powder, A so absolutely ridiculous and hot/dangerous items that pop up quite frequently. Hell there’s even plutonium on the market in minuscule quantities in a rare old Soviet smoke detector. There are limits, But it’s not illegal to own stuff like this. and it’s no more dangerous than an inch of water in your bathtub if handled correctly and with respect. Sure you don’t want to eat them… Or go to bed every night with them under your pillow. Because yes that will eventually add up over years and calls cancer or other major issues. But just like the bathtub water… It’s only dangerous if handled without respect. Or if trying to harm others. I know the last year has been a hard for everyone, and honestly even without coronavirus the world is a burning shithole and life sucks. I’m not disputing that. Honestly….. the only thing that gets me out of bed sometimes is knowing I can end it, that if it gets too bad I don’t have to exist anymore. Having that control gives me a bit of comfort. Sorry I didn’t mean to ramble all this shit and then get morbid. But I understand your concern and it’s understandable to be afraid, of this and of many other things. But as someone who knows a lot about it, and who has no reason to deceive you… I encourage you to look into it a bit, and at the very least understand what you are fearing. I wish you and all of these folks the best, no idea how we’re going to keep going in this insane world… But Hope things get better for you and other folks. Cheers
